The Little House with a Big Idea

Inspired by the real Hollensbury Spite House in 1830s Alexandria, The Little House with a Big Idea tells the true story of one determined man, one noisy alley, and one very narrow solution. When constant commotion disrupts his peaceful home, John Hollensbury decides to build something unexpected—a tiny house tucked snugly between two larger buildings. What begins as a simple fix becomes a clever piece of history that still stands today.

Aria's Hope

In a quiet garden at the edge of the Appalachian woods, a writing spider spins more than silk—she weaves kindness, courage, and hope.

Aria’s Hope follows Aria, a gentle writing spider who uses her shimmering webs to bring comfort to the creatures around her. When winter settles over the forest and a young fawn needs help, Aria’s gifts—and the friends who gather around her—shine brighter than ever. This beautifully illustrated story celebrates compassion, community, and the magic that happens when even the smallest among us chooses to make a difference.

Aria's Gift

In a peaceful garden near the Appalachian foothills, a remarkable writing spider named Aria discovers that even the smallest creature can make a big difference. When the animals face a season of uncertainty, Aria uses her shimmering silk to weave messages of comfort, courage, and connection—reminding everyone that hope can arrive in the most unexpected ways.

Aria’s Gift is a heartfelt picture book about friendship, kindness, and the power of using your unique talents to lift others up.

One True Friend

One True Friend is a gentle, heartfelt picture book set in Macon, Georgia in 1968—a time when classrooms across the South finally opened their doors to all children, together. Through the eyes of a first grader, readers experience a hopeful story of courage, innocence, and the simple power of seeing one another with kindness.

When a little white girl meets her first friend of the school year—a Black girl named Shirlene—the two form a natural bond that grows through shared lunches, jump-rope rhymes, classroom secrets, and the joys of being six. While the adult world stirs with uncertainty, the girls discover what truly matters: friendship without lines, limits, or fear.

Filled with tender memories and nostalgic, colored-pencil illustrations, One True Friend celebrates childhood, compassion, and the small acts of bravery that help the world grow better—one hand in another.
